That’s why we're here to break it down, answer your questions, and make sure you’ve got all the tools you need to be the superhero your child needs in the school system. We’re all about making special education less stressful and more understandable, with a healthy dose of transparency and humor. While both school psychologists and special education advocates play important roles in supporting families, there are key differences in our approach.
If you want professional guidance on your child’s specific needs (psychologically, behaviorally, and academically), help interpreting assessments, and advice on what services your child might need, hiring a school psychologist as a consultant could be a great choice.
If you need legal advocacy and direct representation in meetings or disputes, you might still need a special education advocate. But if the focus is on understanding your child’s needs and getting expert advice on appropriate services, a school psychologist consultant can fill both roles—acting as a bridge between parents and the school while offering insights on the best course of action for your child.
While we can’t attend your child’s IEP meeting with you, our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for your child independently. We’ll help you fully understand the special education process, and with the help of our easy-to-understand, parent-friendly resources, you’ll be equipped to navigate the IEP meeting on your own—no outside advocate needed!
After our initial consultation, we’ll send you a detailed list of packages and pricing options so you can choose the one that works best for your needs. Generally, our consultations are priced at $100 per hour. We also offer package discounts, so the more support you need, the more you save!
We start with a no-pressure, 20-minute consultation to get to know you and your child’s needs to ensure we’re the right fit to support your family. After that, we work with you to create a personalized plan tailored specifically to your goals. From there, we provide ongoing guidance and support every step of the way, ensuring you feel confident and informed throughout the entire process.
Once your initial consultation is scheduled, we’ll send you an email with a list of the documents we’ll need for the record review. We’ll also include a timeline for when we need to receive these documents to make sure everything stays on track and there are no delays in the process.
