Hi, I’m Danielle Meyer, a school psychologist with over a decade of experience working directly with students, parents, and educational teams. Throughout my career, I've worn many hats — conducting assessments, writing reports, chairing IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers and service providers, implementing school-wide supports, and more. But above all, my favorite part of the job is connecting with parents and guiding them through the often-complex education system.
With over 1,000 IEP meetings under my belt, I've witnessed firsthand the struggles many parents face — the frustration of navigating educational processes and the overwhelming feeling of not being supported. I’ve seen the transformative impact of simply being heard, understood, and empowered with the right information. That’s why I’m passionate about working closely with parents, offering transparency, support, and expert guidance every step of the way. I believe that every child deserves to thrive, and in order for that to happen, parents need to feel confident in their ability to advocate for their child's needs. I’ve seen how unqualified advocates can take advantage of vulnerable families and how easily misunderstandings can lead to broken relationships between schools and parents.
This motivated me to create The Parent Friendly School Psych, a space where parents can access a second opinion, extra support, and guidance from an expert who truly understands the system. My mission is to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to help their children succeed — both academically and emotionally. If you’re feeling lost or overwhelmed in the special education process, or just want to make sure you're doing the best for your child, I’m here to help you put the pieces together and find a solution that works for your family. Together, we can make sure your child’s needs are met and that they thrive in the educational environment.
